Step into the enchanting world of Samhain, and join us for an evening of creativity, connection, and ritual as we celebrate the rich tapestry of this ancient festival, when the veil between the living and the spirit world is at its thinnest. Date: Thursday 31st October Time: 7 - 9pm Location: 1 Hamilton Square As twilight descends, we’ll gather together in our studio adorned with autumnal elements: flickering candles, dried flowers, and seasonal fruits, creating an atmosphere steeped in mystery and reverence. The evening will begin with a bay leaf burning ritual, to cast off that which no longer serves us to make way for open minds and creativity. As we toast to the evening with a spiced, mulled apple mocktail, spiked with a kick of rum if you wish, we’ll begin to explore the freedom of experimental mark-making using a variety of unconventional tools. From feathers and pine needles, to fir cones and twigs, you’ll also draw with botanical inks derived from autumn’s bounty - finding deep inspiration from the ever changing landscape around us. As we create, we'll encourage a mindful approach, inviting you to listen to the whispers of nature and the spirits that linger, taking time to observe and record the details and textures before you. Whether you’re an experienced artist or new to drawing, this experience welcomes all. We’ll guide you through exercises designed to awaken your creativity and help you tap into the essence of this magical time. All materials will be provided, and you'll have the opportunity to take home some of the handmade tools and inks alongside your drawings. Join us as we honor the cycles of life, embrace our creativity, and celebrate the spirit of Samhain together.
